Job Description

Job Description 

To provide the management, leadership, and supervision of case management team as well as build their skill set and capacity to provide care and monitor safe and nurturing placements for children and young people in line with Creating Links practice framework.  This role's responsibilities include: 

  • Oversee staff casework and activities, provision of guidance and supervision where required.
  • systems are in place to monitor that all records/case notes are accurate and maintained in line with service, legislative, and Office of the Children’s Guardian (OCG) requirements, including the electronic casework system.
  • The reporting for “risk of significant harm’ reports to the DCJ and consult with OOHC Manager where appropriate and required.
  • Oversee, manage and allocate the financial resources within the program and provide regular reports to the OOHC Manager on finance and program.
  • Oversee and authorise contingency payments in accordance with case management plans and budgets
  • Share responsibility for after hours on call support (24hrs service)
  • Lead and build a team of professional clinical, welfare, administrative and volunteer staff.
  • Supervise the day-to-day allocation of duties to staff and ensure that priority matters are attended to within resources and timeframes.

Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Requirements 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in case management/ case work preferable in child protection or out of home care.
  • Tertiary or Diploma qualifications in a relevant field
  • Minimum 2 or 5 Years’ experience leading a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performing teams with experience in overseeing multiple team members and their workloads
  • Experience in working with CALD and Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander communities and families
  • Highly developed casework and case management skills and knowledge of, and experience in the delivery of strengths-based framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing, leading, and maintaining partnerships with the community and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in quality improvement processes, management, and accreditation
  • Ability to work flexibly within a changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety.
  • Current Criminal History Check 
  • Current NSW working with children’s check. 
  • Current NSW driver’s license 
  • Covid-19 Vaccination
